Solving FOR-PROFIT media problems in America

As long as FOR-PROFIT media exists, Americans will continue to suffer FOR-PROFIT media problems. It's the FOR-PROFIT nature of the beast.

THE PROBLEM is For-Profit media.

THE SOLUTION is to permanently transcend U.S. media issues by building a publicly-owned, underground, fiber optic network to each and every address in the USA.

For about the cost of Trump's forever war crimes on Iran, We The People could build and install an underground fiber optic network to each household in America.

Yes this can be accomplished for the cost of about $200-400 billion; about less than half the cost of the Iraq War or the probable final cost of Trump's forever war.

Problem is, at this point in time neither Democrats nor Republicans would vote to fund such a public, free, high-speed, hardwired internet access precisely because the benefits of such a nationwide, publicly-owned system would spell the end of major telecommunication company dominance of the U.S. telecommunications market.

However, it is feasible to have wealthy philanthropists donate to a public trust to fund such a venture.

The benefits of We The People owning and operating such a system is staggering.

For example:

*no cost, free subscription unlimited wired AND wireless phone service;

*no cost, free subscription TV/media device programming;

*no cost, free subscription home security and medical emergency services;

*no cost, free subscription telehealth services;

*no cost, free subscription education channels.

Additionally and moreover, whenever the fiber optic lines are dug, power lines could be installed underground as well to eliminate seasonal weather issues with above-ground power lines.

Ideally We The People should build publicly-owned neighborhood solar panel systems connected to these underground powerlines providing electricity to each address.

If We The People do not implement this type of public system, we will most likely continue to suffer FOR-PROFIT media issues AND constantly increasing FOR-PROFIT energy and telecommunication bills.

Building a nationwide, all-underground fiber optic network in the U.S. is estimated to cost well over $200 billion to over $1 trillion, depending on the scope of rural coverage.

Underground deployment typically costs $10–$27+ per foot (roughly $50k–$140k+ per mile) due to high labor and trenching costs, with 2025 median costs around $18/ft.
